亞利桑那大學的研究人員研究了24名平均年齡為2歲的兒童，教他們學習簡單的發音。孩子們通過一個以空間為主題的電腦遊戲學習單詞，這些錄音重複了需要學習的新單詞的發音。研究人員隨後向孩子們展示了以這些單詞命名的物體的圖片，並問了他們一些問題。
